With a solid background in Agricultural Engineering and machinery design, my day–to-day projects include designing various machines and products for use in the Agriculture sector.
Projects
Agri-Hire Ltd
This project was the re-development of the “Magnum” spreader for Agri-Hire Ltd. Suffolk. They required the existing 2D AutoCAD drawings to be converted to 3D Inventor files initially. The new design needed to incorporate tri-axle hydraulic active suspension. I worked closely with their chosen axle and suspension supplier to ensure we could develop a design that worked with the wheels and tyres the end customer required.
Thermoweed Greenburner
This is a Thermoweed Greenburner, a product I have had heavy involvement in designing, testing and developing (including many years ago as part of my University dissertation). It is a complex machine that uses heat from burning LPG to organically “boil” off the haulm of potatoes for Organic potato production.
It comprises a gas safety system including solenoids, hosing and fans to ensure the system is efficient but most importantly safe in use.
